It’s the never ending battle against clutter.
In this corner – a plethora of Xbox game disks that never seem to find their way back into their case, let alone back on the shelf.
And in this corner – Mother of Invention.
I took some inspiration from clever ideas to store 45 rpm records. Yes, Virginia, I’ve been around a while (evidenced by the fact that I just wrote, “Yes Virginia”).
As you can see, although the 45 rpm record is bigger, it has quite a lot in common with the shape of the Xbox game disc. The 45 rpm record pictured (appropriately “Old Time Rock and Roll”) is a blast from my past.
So, here is an inexpensive way to both get rid of clutter and create some wall art.
What you’ll need:
Styrofoam boards: You can get these at a crafts store. Or if you recently purchased a computer, or furniture, you might be able to reuse the packing Styrofoam, instead of throwing it away.
Foam sheets
Pom-poms
Pins: I prefer T-pins
Command double sticky tape
- Cut the foam sheets into 6” x 6” squares
- Take a pom-pom and pierce it with a T-pin.
- Place the foam square onto the Styrofoam and secure it with the pom-pom
- Once all the squares are secured to the Styrofoam, put the double sticky tape on the back and press it into the wall
- Hang the gaming disks on the pom-poms
